Naturally, that relationship pulls her into a secret Deep State project called The Rainier Paradigm. A dastardly plan by an elite secret society (the Minderburgers) to detonate Mount Rainier.
Of course, such an eruption would “thin out” the overpopulated Seattle area, and then cash in on the prime real estate afterward.
The Whackers
Enter world-famous hacker Julian Fry and his West Coast Hackers. They stumble onto the plot (plus a related black project called Operation Snow Den and something sinister at a secret Alaska complex called H.E.R.P.E.).
Melissa ends up caught between her powerful lover, her childhood sweetheart, and the hackers trying to stop the catastrophe.
Going N.U.T.S.
Government enforcers (including the hilariously named Naval Undercover Tracking Service — N.U.T.S. — and Agent “Road Rage” Voorhees) are sent to silence everyone before the truth gets out.
As you might guess, the tone is deliberately over-the-top. It’s a dark comedy, full of sarcasm, seduction, and thriller pacing, with the last third ramping up as the disaster looms.
One reader called it “a comedic presentation of a possible conspiracy” that moves quickly once the climax builds.
