In 2018, Matthew Heines ran for the United States Senate in Washington. In 2019, a stranger attacked him in a 24 Hour Fitness pool. Just three months later, he announced his interest in running for Governor — and four days after that, the City of Redmond charged him with assault for the attack he had suffered.
Next, what followed was a coordinated campaign to slander him, label a veteran, teacher, author, and filmmaker as a racist, destroy him financially, and put both his life and his wife’s in danger.
