In 2018, Matthew Heines ran for the United States Senate in Washington. In 2019, a stranger attacked him in a 24 Hour Fitness pool. Just three months later, he announced his interest in running for Governor. Four days after that, the City of Redmond charged him with assault for the attack he had suffered.

Next, what followed was a coordinated campaign to slander him, label a veteran, teacher, author, and filmmaker as a racist, destroy him financially, and put both his life and his wife’s in danger.
